1999, Icosahedron Tensegrity

My first Tensegrity sculpture, consisting of six 8-foot aluminum rods connected into a rigid spherical shape by 24 tendons of stainless-steel aircraft cable.   The resulting shape is (approximately) an Icosahedron (fully symmetrical platonic solid of 20 triangles).  The entire sculpture was suspended in a loft space and lit from below to cast dramatic shadows.
